Nikon Coolpix S500 Easy Digital Camera Review The Nikon Coolpix S500 has a basic design and many basic features but adds a few items of interest that make it a worthwhile choice. Other S-series cameras have wavy designs, musical slide shows, and internal lenses. The S500, however, opts for a flat stainless steel body and an extending 3x optical zoom lens.Lowest Price: |
Nikon Coolpix P5000 Easy Digital Camera Review The Nikon Coolpix P5000 is designed for people who have inherited a bunch of Speedlight flashes and don’t want to lug around a heavy DSLR. The 10-megapixel digital camera aims to please with automatic and manual exposure modes, and a hot shoe to accept those flash units. The downside is that this is definitely not a DSLR, so there’s no taking off the stabilized 3.5x optical zoom lens on the front. Lowest Price: |
Nikon D50 - Easy Camera Review The landscape of the DSLR market is changing with more and more entry-level models popping up. One of Nikon’s staple cameras is the 6.1-megapixel D50, which fits between the D70 and the newer D40. The Nikon D50 is meant to be easy and affordable for casual photographers but still provides the manual control and great features that more serious photographers would require. The body retails for $579 and when included with a 3x kit lens it costs $699.Lowest Price: |
Nikon Coolpix S4 - Easy Camera Review The $300 Nikon Coolpix S4 is a throwback in some ways: Nikon stopped using the pivoting lens design in the late 1990s on its film cameras, but the style is revived in the Coolpix S4. The rest of the camera is new, though: there’s an incredibly long 10x zoom lens, a 6-megapixel image sensor and reasonably sized 2.5-inch LCD screen.Lowest Price: |
Nikon Coolpix S6 - Easy Digital Camera Review![]() The Nikon Coolpix S6 is one of those extremely slim digital cameras made for stashing in a pocket, and its size isn’t its only asset. The S6 has a solid feature set and is even WiFi-enabled so it can send pictures to a computer or printer without ever having to hook up the USB cable. This Coolpix has 6 megapixels, a 3x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD screen, 15 scene modes, and an interesting Pictmotion mode that creates really cool slideshows. It retails for $399. Nikon Coolpix P1 Easy Camera Review
Nikon claims that the P1 is the first consumer digital camera capable of wireless transfer to either computer or printer, though Kodak says the same of their WiFi capable EasyShare-one. Both digital cameras were released within the same week, but their features and wireless functions are quite different. The Nikon P1 offers not only WiFi transference but also a number of manual control options and 16 preset shooting modes. The P1 has an 8.1 MP CCD and a 3.5x optical zoom lens, an in-camera red-eye correction feature, a D-Lighting adjustment, and an auto focus mode that engages in face priority focal patterns. The Nikon Coolpix P1 retails for $549, but can be currently found online for less. Lowest Price: |
Nikon Coolpix 7900-Easy Camera Review![]() The Coolpix 7900 is a small stylish offering by Nikon, aesthetically set apart from the standard metallic models by its matte black finish. The 7900 improves upon the less expensive Coolpix 5900 with a larger 7.1 effective MP CCD, but keeps many of the same features. The 7900 boasts a face-priority AF mode, in-camera red-eye fix, and a D-Lighting system as part of Nikon’s technology suite. These systems don’t work as well as advertised, but their inclusion certainly helps users who struggle to compose accurately lit and properly focused images. The 7900 has a 2-inch LCD, a 3x optical zoom, 13.5 MB of internal memory, and the ability to record smooth looking video clips in full 640 x 480 resolution with a maximum frame rate of 30 fps. Nikon Coolpix S2 Easy Camera Review![]() With a frame that is a mere 0.9 inches thick, the fashionable Nikon Coolpix S2 is intended for those who demand a pocketable digital camera with aesthetic appeal and sleek design. Below the camera’s sliding polished silver lens cover, sits a 3x optical zoom lens, refracting images to a 1/2.5-inch 5 MP CCD. The thin camera also packs on a large 2.5-inch LCD screen. The S2 offers the ability to capture audio, video, and still images to the 12 MB of internal memory. There are 15 preset shooting modes included, tailoring the stylish camera to the automatic crowd. The Coolpix S2 had an original MSRP of $449.95 which was modified to $349.95; however, the S2 can currently be found online for far less. Lowest Price: |
